Sharing the wonder and excitement of astronomy!

The Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association is a group of people that explore, observe, and learn about the objects in the solar system and night sky, and who enjoy sharing their knowledge. Our members vary in expertise from beginner to professional.

Don't feel that you need to own a telescope to belong to the TAAA!  Many members attend observing sessions to get a feel for the kind of telescope they may someday like to buy or make.

Upcoming TAAA Meetings...

General Meeting
Title:
400 Years of the Telescope
Speaker:
PBS documentary presentation

The documentary was designated by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization and the International Astronomical Union as one of 11 special projects to celebrate the International Year of Astronomy 2009. This documentary originally aired on PBS in April 2009 but many members missed it, so we’ve scheduled this special viewing. The video includes comments by six Tucson area professional astronomers.
