TAAA Membership
Come
and explore the universe with us!
Our members vary in expertise from beginner to professional. Anyone
who lives in or near Tucson who is interested in astronomy may join
TAAA.
You don't need a telescope to join TAAA!
If you're new to astronomy and would like to learn more before you buy
your first telescope, our members are glad to help you. Both beginners
and more experienced amateur astronomers will enjoy TAAA meetings and
activities, as well as benefit from TAAA resources and community.
As a member you'll receive the TAAA newsletter, which includes club
news, meeting schedules and events, observing resource information,
and much more. Past issues are made available for the public.

Join TAAA...
Anyone
with an interest in astronomy may
join TAAA. TAAA members are eligible for many club benefits.
TAAA's resources, community, and outreach programs offer both
beginner and advanced amateur astronomers opportunities to
interact with other amateur astronomers,
advance their knowledge in astronomy, and participate in
providing valuable services to the Tucson community.

TAAA Member Benefits

Desert Skies Newsletter
The TAAA's monthly newsletter, "Desert Skies", is filled with news and
information about activities and items of interest. (The current
issue of "Desert Skies" will be available online only to TAAA
Members.)

Subscription Discounts
Members receive discounts on subscriptions to Sky & Telescope and Astronomy
magazines.

Membership Packet
A membership packet contains useful information that new
members and beginners find valuable.

Astronomy Association Meetings and
Education
TAAA's monthly meetings feature education on astronomy essentials
and lectures by distinguished speakers from the local Astronomical
community.

Club Star Parties
Monthly observing sessions, called "star parties", are held at various
dark sites away from Tucson's lights where you can observe the night
sky alongside other TAAA members.

Club Events
Members are invited to join in special events, like parties, camp-outs, and public observing
sessions.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
Members may participate in TAAA's Special Interest Groups (SIGs):
Astronomy Fundamentals SIG; and, Astro-Imaging SIG. Learn more about
astronomy and astro-imaging, while having an opportunity to interact
with other TAAA members in a smaller group environment.

Astronomy Community TAAA Members benefit from the informal sharing of ideas and information with
335+ other members who
are as excited about Astronomy as you are.

Telescope Loaner Program
TAAA members who are in good standing and have completed all
preliminary requirements may participate in TAAA's telescope loaner
program. TAAA also offers an eyepiece handbook and evaluation kit.

Affiliation
with National Astronomy Organizations
TAAA offers resources that benefit members through its affiliation
with organizations such as the Astronomical League and International
Dark-Sky Association.

Website Exposure The TAAA website will continue to expand to feature resources
provided by its members. Members may submit their astro-photography
for inclusion in the Member Gallery, and members with astronomy
websites are invited to have their links included on the Member
Websites page.

- COMING SOON! TAAA is about to witness the birth of a long-awaited resource - our
very own permanent dark observing facility! Learn more about it on

Print and complete the form. TAAA membership dues, optional magazine
subscription rates, and the optional Astronomical League membership
dues are listed on the form.
